The Mission The Table of Humanity is an outgrowth of Cliff’s mission to expose a lie. And that lie is simply this: There is no such thing as a racist. He can say that with clarity because he knows this: No one was born a racist. When people stand on that particular fact, and they start to develop relationships through open dialog, then Cliff believes they can start to deal with the issue of racism. That dialog takes place at what he calls the Table of Humanity. The dilemma, of course, is humans hate to be changed. But over the years Cliff has discovered people don’t have a problem with change. They just have a problem with someone else trying to change them. Consequently, Cliff doesn’t try to change anyone because he knows he can’t. Instead, at the Table of Humanity Cliff asks people to be honest, to have respect and to participate in the dialog. Beyond that, he’s learned if he doesn’t tell people they’re wrong and there’s a problem with their perception, they’ll talk about race all day. That’s why the Table of Humanity is noticeably different from other talk shows and games. The Table of Humanity is controversial to be sure. And it never fails to spark spirited debate. Race after all is a tough subject. But that’s all the more reason why the Table of Humanity is so important. So unique. And so necessary. Cliff’s desires for the Table of Humanity (and parent company Race
Relations Research, Inc.) are: |
| • To be advocates for the human
race. • To improve communication between members of the human race. • To build bridges and tear down walls for the human race. • To help eradicate racism, prejudice, bigotry and race hate. • To leave the earth a lot better than we found it. |
